Two confirmed cases of coronavirus in Oxfordshire

These two cases are associated with foreign travel to Italy

Two cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in Oxfordshire by Public Health England (PHE).

Specialists from Public Health England have confirmed that these two cases are associated with foreign travel to Italy and the two cases are not linked.

Specialists from Public Health England are working with Oxfordshire County Council and NHS colleagues to advise patients on how to limit the spread of coronavirus.

Oxfordshire County Council director of public health Ansaf Azhar told the Oxford Mail: “I’d like to reassure people that the risk to the general public remains low and we are working with health colleagues to do everything we can to stop the virus spreading and ensure the people of Oxfordshire are protected.

“If you have not been contacted by Public Health England as a close contact of the confirmed cases you do not need to take any action at this time.”
