Ariana Grande’s ‘thank u, next’ is the perfect two fingers to uni fuckboys

Step aside boys, we’re all about the self love club now

| UPDATED

The world’s favourite celebrity, Ariana Grande, has just dropped a track from her upcoming, fifth studio album 'thank u, next' and it resonates like hell with uni culture.

The anthem is basically a call to prioritise self-love over wasting your time with disappointing Tinder dates and Atik hook ups.

Ariana opens the song talking of her failed relationships to Big Sean, her back up dancer Ricky Alvarez, her ex fiancé comedian Pete Davidson and recently deceased Mac Miller (I'm not crying, you’re crying).

The song is dedicated to putting the love you have for yourself first, a true feminist bop which has women everywhere feeling empowered af and that’s something we can get behind.

This is the first single to be released for her upcoming album, which is set to drop before the end of 2018.

It will cap off the singer's most difficult year yet, which has included the groping at Aretha Franklin's funeral, the breakdown of her engagement to Pete Davidson and the death of her long term ex-boyfriend Mac Miller.

Ariana sings about the flops of her love life, but she’s excited for new relationship with herself: "But this gon’ last cause her name is Ari/And I’m so good with that".

We are all miles better than those janky fuck boys who leave you on read for hours. It says screw them and start doing things for yourself. It says buy that hot dress from Topshop because you like how it makes you feel. How many times does it have to be said? Ariana just wants us to love ourselves.

Follow Ariana's example: be so fucking grateful for your exes and leave them behind in 2018. It's never too early to be making New Year's resolutions.

She was sent from heaven to us for a reason. Let's lift each other up. The era of fuckboys is over.

Boy bye.
