From face painting to the Disco Shed, here are the best things happening at Common People this year

It is so much more than just music

On the 27 and 28th May, Common People Festival is back and ready to take over Oxford. As well as big stars such as Sean Paul, Rag'n'Bone Man and Pete Tong performing, the festival has various activities, events and bars to keep us entertained over the two days.

Warming you up ready for the live performances later in the afternoon, these are the best bits you can expect this bank holiday weekend.

Cowley Road Carnival

There will be a parade down your favourite road showing off Oxford's best bands, dancers and food. Turn it into a bar crawl or simply join in the carnival. Either way, the atmosphere will be electric.

Street Food

It would not be a festival without an abundance of international, funky and delicious foods. This year at common people we will have everything from cakes, pizza, fish and chips, duck rotisserie to pies. There will even be an ice cream parlour which makes it in front of you and turns it into ice rolls – cool af.

Bouncy Castle

We all know this is a crowd favourite and will be occupied through the weekend. Whether you are a child having fun or an adult who's had a few too many, it entertains everyone.

Vintage Funfair Rides

From Boat Swings to a Ferris wheel, a blast from the past is all you need to continue your weekend of fun.

Circus Performances and Workshops

This year you will be able to learn all the circus tricks you can think of. Along with the classic plate spinning, diabolos and juggling, you will also be able to experiment with acrobatic and arial trapeze and hoop.

Inflatable Assault Course

An extreme bouncy castle which is not designed for the faint hearted. You can challenge your friends to a race or simply burn off the trough of churros you ate earlier.

The Disco Shed

In the day you can enjoy the garden-party vibe and play some classic garden games. However when the sun goes down, you can experience a full light show and live visuals which the shed's roof provides while dancing the night away to their very own DJs.

Face Painting

The ultimate festival accessory. Here you will be able to transform into whatever and whoever you want. Common People is literally the best and only acceptable place in Oxford to roll around in glitter all weekend long.
