Wahoo is set to reopen thanks to an anonymous Brookes alumni who loves the sesh

It’s been a long six months

After what has been one of the worst years for clubs closing down in Oxford, with Warehouse shutting its doors before shortly being followed by Wahoo, it was looking pretty bleak for those who loved the sesh in Oxford.

Now a Brookes alumni, who used to live in Cheney, has reportedly bought the club and plans to reopen it before the end of the semester.

This comes at a crucial time with Lola’s set to be closed for a refurbishment.

With May Day just around the corner, Brookes students will need the extra clubbing space to properly enjoy the classically Oxford holiday.

There’s no word yet whether the club will be opening under a different name, or whether Fuzzy Ducks will be making a homecoming return from current residency in Atik.

We will have to wait and see where the sports teams will go now the old mecca of the VK is reopening.

It is possible that whoever has done this act of heroism was motivated by the outcry from the Brookes community when it was announced the club, that had been the home of the biggest sports night in the country, was closing.

We are still waiting on an official opening date, but there are hopes that it will be before or on May Day this year.

Before you get too excited, check the date…
