Emily Louise GrayYes, you read that right, the one and only Chicken Connoisseur is coming to MNB on the 27th March.
After reviewing his local chicken shops for a small YouTube audience, on a quest to find ‘The Pengest Munch”, 23-year-old Elijah Quashie has become an online sensation with over half a million subscribers.
His most popular video, where he reviews the Chick King in Tottenham, has almost four million views.
The most recent episode, “New York Spesh”, features him actually travelling to the States, where A$AP Bari takes him to three lowkey but classic chicken spots in Harlem, the Bronx and Brooklyn. American Chicken isn’t as ‘wavy’ as ours though, they don’t do strip burgers.
He took inspiration from “the bald one from MasterChef” and calls himself “a food critic for mandem who care to know what the finest chicken restaurants in London are and where to find them”.
With his quick wit, and hilarious way with words, Quashie is managing to keep the nation both thoroughly entertained and well-informed on the state of fried chicken all over the country.
Let’s hope he gets the time to visit our finest Kebab King and Chicken Cottage, a classic addition to any Oxford night out. With any luck we might feature in the next episode of The Pengest Munch.
