Brookes lecturer assaulted by wife after nasty split

She punched him before trying to run him over with her BMW convertible

An Oxford Brookes Electronic Engineering lecturer is involved in a nasty divorce battle with his estranged wife, after she attempted to run him over with her car.

The incident came after she alleged that he had cheated on her.

Mr Khaled Hayatleh, is currently fighting with his spouse over their second home worth £1 million in Sunnymead, North Oxford after the violent split.

Ms Moody pleaded guilty to common assault in court and was given a two year conditional discharge.

His wife has accused him of “seeking to avoid his financial responsibilities”, after he claimed the £1 million house for himself that he owned prior to the marriage.

Mr Hayatleh claims that the pair were never legally married, after undergoing an arranged marriage back in Syria in 1999 and then moving to the UK. However, the judge disproved this and has expressed how the marriage is legally binding.

The pair have been married for 14 years and have had a daughter in that time.

Mr Hayatleh’s lawyer said that he is leaving her “due to a number of incidents in which the wife was violent.”
