Charlotte I'AnsonNando’s on Cowley Road has been confirmed as one of the dirtiest in the country with only one other restaurant in England scoring lower.
That was the Liverpool branch in Liverpool ONE shopping centre which received a fabulous 0 out of 5 on the food hygiene scale.
According the Scores on the Doors website, the East Oxford establishment was given 3 out of 5 points and has been branded as one of the filthiest out of the franchise.
According to The Oxford Mail, Oxford City Council claimed it was so bad that there was a risk of food poisoning because of cross-contamination of raw and cooked goods.
During their recent inspection, it was also claimed that there was an infestation of ants – right by the serve-yourself drinks station.
Still, Nando’s remains a favourite among students and perhaps more than a bad food score will be needed to put people off. The restaurant still places in the top destinations to eat in Oxford and is still receiving positive reviews and feedback.
