Thieves blow up cashpoint in Headington

It was outside McDonald’s


The cashpoint in Headington was blown up on Saturday morning.

It happened around 5am, outside the McDonald’s in Headington.

An unknown amount of money has been stolen from the ATM which is on the A40 ring road roundabout and police are still investigating.

Employees at McDonalds saw a white car fleeing and a witness told the BBC that debris could be seen 15ft away from the cash machine.

A McDonald’s spokesperson told the Oxford Mail: “Luckily no members of staff were injured and the restaurant did not sustain any damage.

“We are co-operating fully with the police in their enquiries and are supporting the staff who were on site at the time of the incident.”

It is also unknown how many people were involved.
