Ten phones were stolen during one night in Wahoo

Police are looking for eye-witnesses

Thieves steal belongings such as phones, a passport and driving licence from Fuzzy Duck’s clubbers this week.

It has been reported that ten mobile phones were stolen on Thursday 21st April between midnight and 3am, during the popular Fuzzy Duck’s night at Wahoo.

Eight iPhones, one Samsung and a HTC phone were taken from unaware clubbers in what is considered to be a pre-planned attack.

A passport and driving licence were also stolen by the thieves.

Keep your phones safe

It is not known if the belongings have been recovered or if any arrests have been made in connection with the thefts.

The Police have issued a statement to the Oxford Mail, urging clubbers to pay attention to the security of their phones during nights out:

“Any suspicious behaviour should be reported to the venue security in the first instance. If your phone has just been stolen and the suspect is still in the area call police on 999.

“If your phone has been stolen and the suspect is no longer in the area, report it by calling 101, the non-emergency police number.

“People are naturally distracted in busy environments such as cafes, bars and night clubs, making it easier for thieves to target their victims.”

If you were a witness to the thefts or have any information you are urged to contact the Police on 101.

To keep your phones safe on nights out it is recommended that you keep your phone concealed, making it less likely that thieves will pay any attention to you. For girls, using a secure bag with a zip might also make it harder for thieves to have access to your belongings.
