There was a small fire in the Abercrombie last night

Fire engines were called to the Abercrombie last night due to a small fire.

Seven fire engines, three police cars and an ambulance were called to the site at 06:45pm on the 11th of Feb due to a fire alarm being raised in the Abercrombie building.

In the early stages of incident, there appeared to be no detected fire, and according to an Oxford County Council Fireman, the number of fire engines was required as a safety caution due to the large size of the building.

However, the university have confirmed there was a small fire.

There were around 15 firemen and one policeman outside of the Abercrombie Glass Tank.

Site manager Monika Graham said: “There is no damage to property”.

When asked if it was a similar situation to the array of fire vehicles that lined gypsy lane three months ago, Monika said that she could not comment.

Once again, Yik Yak is buzzing with news. One Yaker said “Yik Yak is on fire with all of this Abercrombie talk”.

It’s nice to see that Brookes humour hasn’t been extinguished.
