All the computers in the Forum have shut down without warning

Man never been in JHB when it’s shutdown eh?

All computers and sockets in the forum shut down in the middle of one of the busiest afternoons of the year.

Students stressing out over their exams have been put under added pressure this evening after all the computers in the JHB forum have suddenly shut down without warning. It is unsure what has caused the current technical issues, however there is still no sign of the computers switching back on or any member of staff working to resolve the situation.

With deadlines and exams looming over this weekend and next, this has caused a frenzy over students studying hard and revising ready to finish the semester for Christmas. Laptop chargers on the forum tables are also not working, causing hassle for students not even relying on uni computers.

If that’s not bad enough, the IT help desk is shut, causing many students to pack up and go home. This comes just days after the suspected cyber hack, causing Moodle and WiFi to be down throughout the whole of Brookes and having a 24 hour extension given to many students who couldn’t turn in their work.

Second  year maths student Keagan Rastall said: “The situation is unbelievable. It’s a complete joke this close to exams. It happened so quickly I didn’t even have a chance to save my work.”

Many students are complaining about the unreliability of Brookes during exam season, with constant technical issues appearing all week.
