Brookes ranked 324th best university in the WORLD

Gutted for whoever’s 325th

Oxford Brookes has been rated a dismal 324th in the world by the QS University rankings released this week.

Based on academic and employment reputation, the number of students and the amount of research conducted, we really didn’t do that well.

It’s not all bad news — We can cling to the pride that we came well above Swansea, Kingston and the University of Kent, but even the £132 million refurb at our beloved Headington Campus couldn’t squeeze us into the top 300.

JHB in all its glory

You’ll be surprised to hear that our posh, proper Oxford cousins now rank number six in the world, coming 318 places above with their prestige score of 97.70 per cent. Oops.

On the bright side, we have jumped an impressive 77 places since 2012, a stat which seems to keep going up and up every year.

Also, we managed to nab ourselves a place in the top 50 for Architecture.

Second year Russell Sheldrake is just one of many unfazed by the low score. He said: “Who needs to be in the top 300 when you’ve got Monday Night Bridge? Anyway, I’d rather be a poly than a cunt”.

Overall, we’re pretty good. But on paper, we’re just not that great.
