Why you should celebrate the end of exams with a trip to the casino

You don’t even need to like gaming to have a good time

When your final exam is over, how will you celebrate? Sure, you could head to the pub for a few drinks with your coursemates, but you’ve basically been doing that all year already. Rather than end up in the same ol’ boozer, put on your poker face and head to the casino.

Last week my friend and I made the trip to The Casino MK for the afternoon, and by the time we left we were £100 richer and full to the brim with food and drink from their restaurant. Now that’s how you celebrate a special occasion.

When you say casino to most people they probably picture fruit machines, Sin City, and George Clooney walking into the sunset with millions of dollars of Andy Garcia’s money. But The Casino MK is so much more than that.

As well as all your gaming needs, The Casino MK is also home to Tanzibar, a stylish sports bar perfect for watching the “big game” at the weekend. With cinema-style seating and wall-to-wall screens, this is way better than your typical crowded local or dodgy SkyGo stream.

Aspers’ fine dining won us over

There’s also Clary’s Bar and Grill, a restaurant so good you’ll be wondering if the chef’s famous. A casino might not strike you as a good date location but if any guy was to take me here I don’t think I could help but be impressed.

As for the gaming, well, the range of options the casino has to offer is staggering. The staff were extremely friendly and happy to explain the rules of various games to us (while reminding us to gamble responsibly of course!)

Plus, there were cocktails…

I’d never played poker before so it was really great to learn how to actually play it, and between the two of us we managed to turn our £5 bet into a cool one hundred.

(Note: some of that was helped by a very generous customer who gave us first-timers a few chips!)

As we left the casino at the end of the night, our pocket slightly heavier with our winnings, we couldn’t help but ask each other: why would you ever want to spend an afternoon sat in some crowded beer garden with an oddly-coloured cider when you could be here?

Plus, you could always walk away with a fortune. Fingers crossed.
