Students shave their heads at Smut to raise cash for cancer charity

They raised nearly £1000

| UPDATED

A group of Brookes students shaved their heads at Smut last week to raise £1000 for Teenage Cancer Trust.

Lawrence Mills and his friends decided to hold the event after their friend India Radford was diagnosed with the disease last year.

India has a rare form of cancer known as soft tissue sarcoma.

Lawrence told The Tab: “This subject is dear to my heart as its a very close friend of mine.”

“My friend knew the girl from the ‘smileforhatti’ campaign that unfortunately passed early January from the same type of cancer.”

“That campaign was huge and raised loads of money, we’ve only been raising money for just over a month and we are on £13,000+ so this is just the beginning.”
