Meet the team: Men’s Tennis

This week sees the men’s tennis team answer our Who’s Who.

The Tab met with Brookes Tennis veteran Tom Bowers to get all the gossip.

We find out their Wimbledos and Wimbledon’ts, who splashes the Pat Cash, and who causes the most racquet on a night out.

1. Who’s the angriest member in the squad?

Tom: I unfortunately and unavoidably have to nominate myself. I hate losing, I really hate losing!

2. Who’s the always getting injured?

President and Pilot

Kareem: Our accident-prone president is always in the wars, rumour has it that he has a bionic leg.

3. Who’s the most high-maintenance?

On one of his rare appearances

Sam: The ever elusive Oaf turns up only when he fancies, but he does play like 243km/h serving Taylor Dent though, so he gets away with it.

4. Who’s the biggest freak?

Tom is rarely in a good mood on court

Tom: I don’t think we’ve got any ‘freaks’ per say, but funniest player for all the wrong reasons is probably me (again). Apparently my range of colourful language and expletives on court is amusing to behold.

5. Who’s the biggest drinker?

Max and Kareem love a photobomb

Max: Our social secretary is an absolute machine.

6. Who’s most successful with the opposite sex?

Max (again): He’s made his way through the girls’ team over the last few years. He plays more tonsil tennis than lawn tennis. New balls please!

7. Who’s got the most flair on the field?

Jack: Often likened to Roger Federer, his style is reinforced by the fact he’s got all the Federer merch as well.

8. Who wouldn’t you expect to be as good as they are?

James: What he lacks in height he makes up for in ability. Playing like Djokovic, this Lad is always reliable.

9. Who’s only in it for the parties?

Max (again!): He’s social secretary for a reason, I’m not sure he’s ever been to a training session, ever.

10. Who’s the best player in the squad?

Cool off court, a beast on it

Kareem: He is a complete beast and nobody can stop him. His forehand is so big you can hear it from Swindon.
