Eight Months for Brookes Burglar

Burglar sentenced after stealing from halls.

A man who broke into Clive Booth moments after being chased away from another incident has been jailed.

35-year-old Lewis Measey broke into property in Bishops Court, John Garne Way on April 15 but was caught red handed and chased off before he could steal anything.

Measey then headed up to Clive Booth Halls, taking a phone and a purse from one of the flats. He was arrested soon after the events took place.

During sentencing at Oxford Crown Court, Judge Patrick Eccles said “the burglaries were committed during the evening and in both cases the occupants had to go through the frightening experience of having to confront you.” Measey will spend eight months in jail.
