The University of Bristol is providing free period products in bathrooms around campus

Annabel MackenThe cost of living crisis is affecting everyone and everything but Bristol SU is trying its best to help students beat rising costs.
They are providing free period products in the majority of university-owned bathrooms to help students who may be in need of sanitary products.
Period poverty is one of the biggest crises facing women all over the world with over 500 million women every month facing this basic problem by simply not being able to afford the necessary products.
In a 2017 survey, 1 in 10 UK girls revealed that they had been unable to afford period products; we can only imagine how much worse this is becoming as prices rise this year.
The university is now providing these products to students for free to help make this time easier. These are essential products which allow people with periods to live comfortably during their periods.
This was brought in last month alongside the new £1 soup and bread roll offered at Source Cafes to help students with the cost of living crisis.
