Wills’ ‘Bond Night’ shuts down early after someone steals a laser tag gun

Residents were made to wait in the cold while their rooms were searched

A glamorous black tie event at Wills Hall ended up abruptly last night when someone stole a laser tag gun.

Despite the many vodka martinis and games of roulette, Bond Night only truly became 007-esque when the theft caused the entire party to be shut down.

The laser quest course in old quad

The very expensive laser tag gun, totalling hundreds of pounds, was demanded to be returned instantly. Everyone was locked out of the old quad, while rooms were searched. During this time, Wills Hall residents weren’t allowed to return to their rooms, with many forced to wait outside, coatless, freezing and increasingly agitated.

University security arrived knowing very little of the problem. One eyewitness said there was a brief panic when security briefly misunderstood the situation and thought the missing laser gun was an actual real gun.

Luckily, the laser gun was eventually returned and people could go back to their rooms eager for some warmth, and a change of clothes.

It didn’t take long for residents to start making light of the situation.
