Bold third year shaves her head for charity

Her head’s really cold now

Inspiring Classical Studies student Susannah Hunt has shaved her head to raise money for cancer charity Macmillan.

The third year raised over £1,100 for cancer charity Macmillan by shaving her head on 18th October.

Susannah said: “My hair was a big feature of my appearance before now. It’s come in many shapes, sizes and colours.

“Luckily, I’ve never experienced a loved one’s battle with cancer. I just want to do my part to help out.”

Susannah said she was thrilled with the support from her friends and family.

“I’m really grateful to everyone who helped out such an amazing cause.”

“My parents were so chilled about it and came to watch. All my friends have been amazing at helping me fundraise and cheering me up when I feel shit.”

Yet despite the amazing support from her friends and family, people on the street have mixed opinions.

Susannah said: “some people have been like ‘wow, good on you’ but others had been pointing and staring and whispering.”

Before and after

But she also added that apart from feeling constantly cold now, she felt really good for having done it and was pleased to have raised more for Macmillan than she anticipated.

She smashed her target of £700 and the figure is still rising. Click here to donate to Susannah’s shave page.
