Bristol University’s first ever Cultural Festival, ‘Explore 2014 – Around the World in 7 Days’, which celebrates diversity at the University, is now underway.

Until 13th February, Explore ’14 is holding events enabling students and societies to celebrate different cultures and traditions. Alongside the work of students, several local restaurants will be showcasing their food. The festival aims to celebrate the remarkable range of cultures both within and beyond Bristol University.

Monday showcases the culture of the Third World, aiming to raise money for the International Senior Lawyers Project through an evening of dance, music, theatre, poetry and much more. This fun charity event is taking place from 5.30pm – 9pm in the Great Hall, Wills Memorial Building. Email va12565.2012@ my.bristol.ac.uk for tickets.

Wednesday features a day of films from around the world, from 2pm -11pm. For the film marathon, reserve your place early via the UBU website to avoid disappointment on the day.

The Cultural Finale, which takes place on Thursday, includes a fashion show, cultural dances, music performances and comedy, taking place from 7pm to 11pm in the Anson Rooms. Again, reservation is essential- make sure you reserve your tickets early via the UBU website to avoid disappointment on the night!

Explore 2014 represents a chance for students to learn about the 180 different countries represented at the university and to experience the cultural opportunities they offer.
