Wannabe Banksys spray the price

Three UWE students try their hand at ‘urban art’, get arrested for criminal damage

Three students from UWE have been arrested and slapped with adult cautions after plastering the outside of a swimming pool in graffiti.

The budget Banksys, all art students, clambered over the iron railings to make their mark on the (highly glamorous) location in Bedminster, but sadly returned only with cautions for criminal damage.

The ‘street art’ indulged in dumbfounded Brizzle coppers, who remarked on the boards specifically put in place for ‘urban art’ in the park next to the pool.

One bemused Bristol bobby told the Bristol Post, “The swimming pool is a Grade II listed building and it would cost the council ten thousand pounds to clean just one wall of the building of graffiti, as special products need to be used to protect it.

Banksy – *not* vandalism, alright?

“Rather than using the boards which have been put up in the park for the sole purpose of people expressing their creativity, these lads have climbed over iron railings to deface a listed building.

“It is clearly illegal and will not be tolerated.”

UWE-in some, you lose some.
