15 Days ‘Til Xmas!

Check out our guide to the best Christmas events in Bristol this year.

Struggling to get into the festive spirit?

Luckily for you, there’s plenty of Christmas cheer to be found in Bristol this week. Here’s a Tab guide to what’s happening over the next seven days.

Aladdin @ Bristol Hippodrome – Wednesday Onwards

Everyone loves a pantomime, especially in the festive season. Aladdin will whisk you away on his magic carpet to a wonderful land of mystery. If you’re lucky you might get a few wishes thrown in!

Craig Charles & The Fantasy Funk Band @ The Spiegeltent – Wednesday

Nothing says Christmas more than a trip to the Spiegeltent and a rare appearance by the Fantasy Funk Band is worth braving the cold for. Check out some of the biggest names in funk & soul, with Red Dwarf star Craig Charles as Master of Ceremonies.

Al Murray @ Colston Hall – Wednesday

Al Murray will be doing his infamous Pub Landlord show attempting to fix Britain with a pint in hand. His new show, The Only Way Is Epic, stands to be a hit and tickets are still on sale!

Murdery Mystery @ Avon Valley Railway – Thursday

The ultimate Christmas themed version of everyone’s favourite family game is aboard the Avon Valley Express. Dress up and head along; not that cheap but definitely a good night out!

Feast Your Eyes @ RWA – Thursday

A fundraising auction with works from Damien Hirst and HRH The Prince of Wales going which you can attend for free. This promises to be a real treat.

Electric Six @ O2 Academy – Thursday

I love Electric Six. Their album, Fire, is a classic. On this night they will be performing it in its entirety. There will be a fire in the disco, so head down to go crazy along with them.

Christmas Beer Festival @ The Portcullis – Thursday-Sunday

With over 20 different yuletide ales, head down to the 4 day long festival for a merry afternoon on Wellington Terrace overlooking the Avon.

The Hobbit @ Cinemas – Thursday Onwards

No words are really needed to express how awesome this will be. Get down with Gimli’s ancestors and Gandalf in wonderful 3D and 48 frames per second. The Tab are going, so should you.

Chocolate Festival @ Quakers Friars – Friday-Sunday

The festive season brings all the best festivals to Bristol and this week you can gorge yourself on some of the best chocolate around. Get down to Quakers Friars and feel sick for days afterwards.

Peter Pan @ Bristol Old Vic – Every Day

If you can’t get enough of pantos and have a minor psychosis about someone following you then get along to the Old Vic for another dose of fictional fun!
