16:41 We finish with a big congratulations to all our sports teams. The women of Bristol continue to impress with big results for UBWFC, UBLHC and Bristol Netball. Will next week see the guys step up to the plate? We’ll be back again next week to find out. For now, here’s today’s breaking news.

16:40 We’re running short on time so here’s your final three results. In Fencing, the Women’s 1s lost 118-116 to Bath 1s. In Hockey, the Men’s 2s lost 2-1 to Bath 2s and in Tennis the Women’s 1s lost 10-2 to Cardiff Met 1s. Hardly the best trio of results to end on is it?

16:37 Another Netball result quickly and it’s a clean sweep for Bristol as the 3s win 29-36 away to Bournemouth 2s.

16:36 We mentioned the great run being enjoyed by the Netball teams earlier. The 1s also got another win yesterday, 49-21 against the Brighton 1s. The 2s game against Plymouth 1s went right to the wire but Bristol came out on top, winning 33-32.

16:33 The Women’s 3s in the Hockey caused quite a bit of excitement yesterday, beating Aberystwyth 1s 3-2. That result puts them into the quarter-finals.

16:27 A couple of results from the indoor sports now. In Squash, the Men’s 2s comfortably beat UWE 4s 5-0, whilst in the Table Tennis, the Men’s 1s were 11-6 winners against Cardiff 1s.

16:25 By the way, a very important link for you all to check out. The Union have put together a quick survey to try and find out how sports provision can be improved in Bristol. It won’t take more than 5 minutes of your time. Please fill it out.

16:23 Okay, we’re back. Unfortunately it’s with bad news and another defeat on the Football pitch. The Men’s 4s were beaten 1-3 at home by Plymouth 3s.

16:16 We need a quick drinks break so we’ll leave you with that video for a few mins as well as the Tab‘s top story of the week.

16:14 We apologise if that song now gets stuck in your head all day. To take your mind off it, here’s UBTV’s coverage of the Bristol Barracudas game against Cardiff Cobras this weekend.

16:11 Just to clarify, we don’t believe that’s the Adam Scott of Step Brothers fame. Elsewhere in the Football, the Men’s 3s lost 3-0 away to Cardiff Met 1s, and the Men’s 2s lost 1-4 to Exeter 2s.

16:09 The girls of UBWFC weren’t the only ones relieved they finally got their first win. From the sound of it their friends might have been getting fed up with the losing streak funk too.

16:05 Here’s a couple of Badminton cup results. The Women’s 1s thrashed the Bath 3s 7-1, whilst the Men’s 2s enjoyed a 6-2 victory against the Plymouth St Mark & St John’s 1s.

16:04 A few Lacrosse results for you now. There was bad news for both the Men’s 1s and Women’s 1s. The former lost 10-7 away to Oxford, whilst the ladies lost 9-3 to the same uni. Thankfully, it wasn’t all bad news:

16:01 The Netball team have been one of the year’s most consistent sides at all levels so far and they were at it again on Wednesday. The 5s outplayed Bath Spa 1s, beating them 42-17.

15:57 Not every team can win though. The Bristol Hockey Women’s 4s had an afternoon to forget, losing 0-5 to the Exeter 3s.

15:54 Two more cup matches for you now, the first of which was in the RugbyBristol Men’s 1s completely destroyed the boys from Sheffield Hallam in a 40-0 thumping. We can only hope Stuart Lancaster and his England team were watching. Elsewhere in the Football, the Bristol 1s came up against the UWE 3s. After a nervy 0-0 draw, the game went to the lottery of a penalty shoot-out. Bristol came out on top 4-3.

15:53 The Men’s 2s could have used some of Throup’s big dunks though. In the Western Conference Cup, they suffered a humiliating 47-75 defeat to local rivals UWE 1s.

15:50 Let’s switch our attention to Basketball now. James Throup got in touch to let us know about the 88-55 win against Gloucestershire yesterday.

15:46 The Men’s Hockey 1s weren’t quite so lucky though, losing 4-3 at Oxford.

15:42 The fine form of Bristol’s female athletes continued elsewhere too. The Ladies’ Hockey 1s got a fantastic 3-2 win against the previously unbeaten league leaders Oxford.

15:37 As you may have noticed from the picture to the left, UBWFC are this week’s Tab Team Of The Week. The girls got their first win of the season 1-0 away to Chichester. Our Sports Editor Elena who played in the game had this to say:

“We dominated the game and missed several chances but kept Chichester out to take the win. Coach said: “best university football I’ve ever seen in my life”. Nat Zajaczkowski scored the only goal of the game, a sweet strike from the edge of the box. Jade Hutton had a solid game at the back despite carrying an injury and Harriet Peel put in some stunning tackles in the centre of midfield. But it was above all a team performance”

15:30 It’s a delayed kick-off today for Sportsweek, partly because of a last-minute shopping trip to buy some spinach (I know, cool story). Thank you so much to everyone who got in touch yesterday via text, tweet or email to fill us in on how their team got on. Without you guys joining in, this would just turn into me talking to myself, something my doctors say I do too much of already. Anyway, are we all ready? If so, on with the show…
