200 Ft Troll Destroys Clifton Bridge

Halloween visit from giant troll startles Clifton residents

A 200-foot tall troll frightened onlookers on Halloween night when it smashed through Clifton Suspension Bridge.

The troll, dressed as Isambard Kingdom Brunel, broke through one of the bridge’s abutments before jumping into the river below.

The jaw-dropping sight was an ingenious PR stunt conceived by Bristol creative agencies Play Nicely and Taxi Studio to mark the launch of a new website.

The Halloween hoax had been the source of much secrecy, with even local authorities in the dark. Cryptic hints on Twitter provided the only suggestion that something was being planned.

It seems that the troll might not be a one-off either, with those responsible telling people to ‘keep an eye out for next year’s stunt!’
