PAGE MUST BE MANUALLY REFRESHED

15:42 What the hell, let’s sign off for the day on a self-congratulatory note.

15:40 We’re nearly done here but feel free to tweet or email in any pics/reactions to yesterday’s events. Even if it’s only to tell us how drunk you got last night. Our final result (for now) comes from the Netball, where Bristol Women’s 4s lost 39-24 to Cardiff Women’s 4s.

15:31 We’re jumping back to Lacrosse now to tell you the news you’ve all been eagerly anticipating. Bristol Men’s 1s beat Plymouth Men’s 1s 16-3. Unbelievable Jeff! I’ll just let that clearly important scoreline sink in for a few minutes.

15:28 We used to play Basketball. We had to stop after we got in one small fight and our mother got scared and…well, you know the rest. Bristol Men’s 1s haven’t been sent packing by their mothers just yet, but had a disappointing afternoon yesterday, losing 64-75 to Southampton Men’s 1s.

15:24 Back to Hockey, which after Georgie Twigg’s Bronze at the Olympics should really be our coolest sport, and the Bristol Men’s 2s drew 2-2 away to Glamorgan Men’s 1s. (Am I the only one surprised by how much sport Glamorgan play?) The Bristol Men’s 5s got a big 4-0 win over the 4s from UWE (again, no teasing!) whilst the Men’s 1s were held to a 1-1 draw by Cardiff Met Men’s 1s.

15:19 Back to the indoor Squash courts now, to find out that the Bristol Men’s 2s were resoundingly beaten 4-1 by Southampton Solent Men’s 1s. That is a university I didn’t even know existed until now.

15:16 We don’t know if this is true or not but apparently Lacrosse is one of the most violent sports out there. Anyone want to back this up? Neither of the Women’s teams did very well yesterday for Bristol: the 1s lost 13-7 to Cambridge Women’s 1s whilst the 2s were beaten 19-15 by the Cardiff Women’s 1s.

15:10 This just in from roving reporter Sam Rhodes (think Phil McNulty with more hair): In the Football, Bristol Men’s 1s were 4-1 winners against Cardiff Medics Men’s 1s. Sounds like I should have watched that game instead of England v Poland yesterday.

15:06 You can always spot the Rugby boys on a night out but did you know some of them also play Rugby League? (For the uninitiated, yes, there is a difference). The less prestigious of Bristol’s rugby teams played the less prestigious of Oxford’s two universities yesterday: Bristol Men’s 1s came out 26-10 winners against Oxford Brookes Men’s 2s.

14:51 Did you play in any of the games we’ve mentioned so far? Tweet us @TheTabBristol and let us hear your views on the result.

14:50 In comparison to squash, football is definitely a more popular sport. However, Bristol Men’s 4s weren’t able to convert that popularity into a win against Southampton Men’s 3s yesterday, with the game finishing 2-2.

14:46 Squash! Definitely one of the lesser lights of Bristol’s sporting roster (I mean, when has anyone got excited about a squash social?), the Men’s 3s lost 2-3 to Cardiff Men’s 2s yesterday.

14:43 All these scores coming in I feel a little bit like Jim White on transfer deadline day. Next up is another Hockey result: Plymouth Men’s 2s 1-3 Bristol Men’s 4s. Very good result that, even if it was only Plymouth.

14:27 Away from banter and back to sport. That is, after all why we’re here right? In the Badminton yesterday, Bristol Women’s 1s got a thumping 8-0 victory over Cardiff Met Women’s 1s. The Welsh had their revenge though in the Hockey, where Cardiff Uni Medics Men’s 1s managed a 3-2 victory over the Bristol Men’s 3s. Although they lost, you have to feel that was still a good result for the Bristol guys.

14:25 The Tab feel we should point out that the Netball team now actually have 54 followers. #notquiteassmallclub

14:23 Turns out it’s not just Bristol and UWE who don’t get along. Seems there’s a rather bizarre rivalry between the Bristol Rugby and Netball teams.

14:16 Again, not playing up the Bristol/UWE rivalry, but if any Ultimate players from the other side of the tracks want to comment back…

14:11 Is it possible to overdose on Sports? So many results coming in it’s hard to keep track! Here’s one from the fiercely competitive world of Table TennisBristol Men’s 1s went down 4-13 to the far superior Southampton Men’s 1s.

14:02 Returning to the Bristol/UWE rivalry briefly, we should perhaps mention that despite UWE’s Netball defeat, they are currently 3 places above Bristol in the BUCS Points table. Bristol’s lowly position of 27th isn’t exactly something to write home about.

13:57 Staying with Netball, the Women’s 2s got a great result against Glamorgan 1s beating them 40-36 in what seems to have been a close-fought battle.

13:54 Some people have accused us of trying to play up the rivalry between Bristol and UWE. For the record, we aren’t biased one way or another. To prove this, we’re just going to post this Netball result with no further comment whatsoever. We’ll leave the jeering and joking to you guys in the comments. Here it goes: Bristol Women’s 5s 51-6 UWE Women’s 5s.

13:50 We gave you a couple of Tennis results earlier, but here’s another one. Bristol Women’s 2s drew 6-6 away to Exeter Women’s 3s. Thankfully, the tennis players didn’t have the same problem the men’s rugby team did when they travelled to Exeter last week.

13:46 This week saw the UBSC ski trip sell out in record time. Were you one of the lucky ones to get a place?

13:41 Did you know golf is a university sport? We certainly didn’t! Turns out Bristol’s Mixed 1s shared a 3-3 draw with Glamorgan’s Mixed 1s yesterday. Doesn’t sound quite as dramatic as the Ryder Cup!

13:35 In the wider world, one of today’s big sports stories is of course the BBC’s Price of Football survey. David Stone, Epigram’s Sports Editor, has given his initial reaction:

13:29 The Ultimate Frisbee boys and girls have been in touch. Turns out they weren’t even playing yesterday.

13:23 Yesterday wasn’t a good day for Bristol’s female Hockey players.  The 1s lost away to Cambridge 1s 1-0, the 2s were beaten at home by Cardiff 3s, again by a 1-0 scoreline whilst the 4s, in a tough match against Glamorgan 1s, were thrashed 7-1. Better luck next week girls!

13:05 Here’s some Twitter reaction to that football result from 3s player Daniel Simms:

13:03 In Football, the Bristol 3s were given the opportunity to upset the Bristol 2s yesterday when they met at Coombe Dingle. The 3s were leading with 15 mins left on the clock but two late goals ensured that the Bristol 2s avoided an upset and came out 2-1 winners.

13:00 Here’s the UBRFC squad to face Cambridge Uni on the 24th November: Leslie, Cuthbertson, Rix, Byrne, Kerr, Tice, Newbury, Fawcett, Reid, Conchie, Humphrey, Stephenson, Watchorn, Barrett, Brown, Quentin, Boatman, Sharratt, Hobbart, Mortimer, Jones, Higgins, Trueman, Reed, Walker.

12:46 From Rugby to Football and UBWFC were in action against Hertfordshire yesterday, whose team was filled with England U21 internationals and Arsenal Ladies players. Seems a bit unfair if you ask us. Hertfordshire ran out 5-0 winners. From the sound of it this week’s Tab MVP Katie Farrell must have had a busy game.

12:42 You heard it here first folks. Courtesy of Sports Editor Sam Rhodes:

12:35 It wouldn’t be a Wednesday without Sports Night antics! Anyone get up to anything especially shocking? And, more importantly, did UBRFC succeed in luring Tom Smith out for the night?

12:22 Of course there’s much more to university sport than rugby. In tennis yesterday, the Bristol 2s enjoyed a dominating win over their Welsh rivals from Cardiff Met, beating their 2s 12-0Bristol Women’s 1s were also in action; their match-up with Cambridge Women’s 1s finished 6-6.

12:20

12:10 Bristol’s rugby teams enjoyed an encouraging set of results yesterday. Bristol 3s enjoyed a 24-16 win over Exeter 5s, whilst a low-scoring contest between Bristol 2s and Swansea 2s finished 8-8Bristol 1s meanwhile were in action against Hartbury 1s, who are not only in the division above Bristol, but are also the current league leaders. Bristol went into the game as underdogs but a hard-fought performance resulted in a narrow 27-31 loss. Whilst the players are surely frustrated to come so close, this is definitely a hugely encouraging result.

12:00 Whether it’s aching muscles from yesterday’s match or a throbbing headache from the post-match celebrations, you can be sure that Bristol’s sportsmen and women were feeling a little fragile this morning. We’ve got results to run through, but we also want to hear from all of you too so be sure to tweet in your reactions to yesterday’s matches.
