Students! This is how you could win £9,250 just by doing a uni assignment

SHOW ME THE MONEY

| UPDATED

Fancy getting £9,250 for a piece of uni work? Yep, thought so.

Well, Adobe is offering one lucky student £9,250 for submitting a uni assignment created with Adobe Creative Cloud.

All you need to do is make a uni project that will wow your lecturer, send it to Adobe, and they’ll pick a winner.

Don’t worry – you don’t need to be a pro to enter. This is specifically for students who don’t get taught Creative Cloud as a main part of their course. The competition is open to beginners, even if you’ve never even used Creative Cloud before.

Don’t mind if I do

You can submit anything from a video to an infographic, a website, or an app as part of an upcoming uni project.

The winner of the Adobe Digital Edge Award will receive the £9,250 straight into their bank account to spend on whatever they want. Plus they’ll get an amazing award for their CV.

Three runners up will also win a huge £1,000.

Tempted? Of course you are. The competition is ALREADY OPEN and closes on 31 May 2021.

*Gets all of a sudden really creative*

To be in with a chance of winning, you should submit a piece of work that you’ve either created yourself or as part of a team of up to 6.

If you’ve not got any projects on the horizon this year, or your uni course doesn’t let you submit creative projects – don’t panic – you can reimagine an assignment you’ve already done and enter that instead.

Whatever you create, have fun with it. What Adobe want to see is your digital literacy – which means using your digital skills to showcase your ideas in amazing ways and communicate ideas clearly.

We get it, not everyone can whip up a complicated infographic of an afternoon – and the judges aren’t expecting you to. Just try your best with the skills you have and let your creativity roam free.

You need to show the judges that you can take something complicated, and condense it into something creative and easy to understand. It should have the wow factor, but also be digestible.

Below are some examples from student Valentina, who’s already using Creative Cloud as part of her course.

You absolutely do not need to be as skilled as Valentina’s to enter, but consider it some great inspo to get you started.

Who can enter?

This is NOT a competition for pros. You do have to be a legal UK resident, at least 18 years old and enrolled at university for this academic year though.

If you study a creative subject, like one that uses Creative Cloud regularly for assignments, this award isn’t open to you, as that would be unfair. You’ve not been left out though – you can enter one of Adobe’s other awards instead.

How do I get Adobe Creative Cloud?

Check with your uni to see if you get free Creative Cloud as part of your course. If not, students save 65% on Creative Cloud with a valid student email address. Or, you can get a free 7-day trial to complete your project.

What if I don’t know how to use Creative Cloud?

It doesn’t matter! If you’ve used Creative Cloud before, go ahead and show off what you’ve got. But if you’ve never used it before there are plenty of tutorials on the Adobe Youtube channel so you can learn in no time.

When will I find out if I’ve won?

The competition is open now, so it’s time to get going. Entries close 31st May 2021, and the winner will be chosen in July 2021.
