To ensure you don’t go completely broke over the holidays, Circle has entered into the Christmas spirit and is running a competition where you can win easy cash.
Circle is a social payments app that has made sending and receiving money from your friends faster, easier and more enjoyable through GIFs and emojis.
Once you refer your friend you will both be given a fiver and will be entered into a draw for £200, the winner will be announced on Christmas day.
If you haven’t already, all you need to do is download Circle Pay for iOS or Android, link your card to the app and use your unique referral link under Friends. The competition closes at midnight on Christmas Eve.

In the spirit of giving, according to research conducted by Circle and YouGov, you’re losing out on £50 a year from flaky friends not paying you back.
Whether it’s a friend not sending you money for those mince pies you bought or if you’re splitting the house Christmas dinner bill, Circle is designed to make paying people back easy – hopefully preventing any more awkward and unnecessary bust-ups before the end of term.
Your friends are now able to quickly transfer you money as easily as sending a text instead of taking months to pay you back through online banking or in handfuls of loose change.
People using Circle say it’s made it far easier for friends to pay them back after a night out, when they’re chipping in for house presents, or if they go to dinner as a big group to celebrate the holidays.
James Scott, an Economics second year, is one of the many fans of the app. He said: “We used it for our house xmas dinner, where I bought the food and then split the cost evenly between my four housemates. It’s so simple to use and was easier than asking for cash.”
