Man dies in Boscombe Chine Gardens during Bournemouth Marathon

Unconscious man pronounced dead near Bournemouth Marathon Course


The body of a man was found in Boscombe Chine Gardens on Sunday morning, as Bournemouth Marathon took place.

Although the race proceeded as normal, areas were closed to the public as the investigation by Detectives and Forensic Officers was carried out.

Spectators were asked to avoid Boscombe Chine Gardens on Sunday the 6th.

Race officials informed them that areas were cordoned off due to a serious police incident.

The police confirmed they'd received a report of an unconscious male in the gardens at 7.39am. When they arrived he was pronounced dead at the scene.

A police spokesperson said: "There are no suspicious circumstances, and enquiries are ongoing on behalf of the coroner."

The next of kin have been informed.
