So, just how many BU students went to a private school?

Bet they all know what a soggy biscuit is

There's no doubt about it, Bournemouth has its fair share of stereotypical "poshos". But how many of these are certified posh? Like, private school posh?

Fear not, here at The Tab Bournemouth we've got our hands on some exclusive data, revealing just how many privately educated students are hiding among us. And by hiding, I mean in Waitrose.

Roughly five per cent of BU students came straight from the private school gates, which isn't bad for a poly after all.

And private school intake is seemingly rising, with 13 per cent more privately educated students joining BU between 2015/2016 and 2016/2017.

That means, 210 private school students joined the uni in the 2016/2017 academic year, the most recent statistic the university holds.

Here's a further breakdown:

Bournemouth fares pretty low in the ratio of private schoolers to average staters compared to other UK unis.

Royal Academy of Music top the polls for the most private students -it's the only uni to take less than half of its students from state schools, being 55 per cent made up of royals and MIC cast members (otherwise known as privately educated).

I would say I'm shocked, but I'm not.
