One SUBU election candidate’s campaign page is literally just a whole bunch of memes

This is democracy 2018 style

It's that time of year again – SUBU elections. You're probably already fed up of being stopped on campus by people in campaign t-shirts, bored of reading and not replying to Facebook messages from candidates, and outright fed up of the emails reminding you to vote.

However, one guy is bringing a splash of colour to the oh-so-boring election season, by campaigning purely through memes.

If there's one way to get other students to think you're a bit of a legend, and to get them to look twice at your campaign page, it's to get on their level. Jake Ruggier is doing just that. The VP Activities hopeful has filled his page with iconic memes, all relating to how he thinks he's the one for the job.

His manifesto is actually made using WordArt.

He doesn't follow the crowd, and rope in his friends to stop people on campus to vote. Oh no, Jake instead got help from a trusted blow up man. Yep, he really did that.

His page currently has 56 likes and a five star rating based on reviews. Maybe it's something to do with his interesting method of trying to gain voters?

Some of the pictures make absolutely no sense, but at least they grab your attention. Right?

Other candidates running against Jake are Connor Martin, Jake Fletcher, James Ramsden, Josh Stevenson, Lea Ediale-Ehimanre, Mikaela Slavova Yurukova and Joe Bulman.

All of the VP Acitivies candidate's manifestos can be found here.

The vote for full-time officers opened last Friday, and closes on Thursday at 4pm. You can view all of the candidate's manifestos and cast your vote here.
