BU hopeful caught with thousands of pounds worth of cannabis

20-year-old Benjamin Tiller avoided a jail term after being found with between £4,000 to £7,000 worth of the class B drug.

He was given a 12 month sentence in a young offenders institution which was suspended for 18 months.

It was found that he intended to supply the approximately 640g of drugs to an associate.

He was also put under curfew and made to wear an electronic tag for four months as well as being ordered to do 250 hours of unpaid work and pay a victim £100.

He had aimed to become a footballer for AFC Bournemouth and had hoped to come to BU study sports science.
