University of Birmingham top 15 in the UK in The Times World University Rankings

UoB ranked at 108 in the overall world rankings


The Times World University Ranking 2023 has been released. The Times World University Ranking is the largest and most diverse university ranking as it ranks 1,799 universities.

Out of the 1,799 universities that the The Times World University Ranking ranks the University of Birmingham came 108th.

The Times World University Ranking ranks 163 universities in the UK and across all these universities UoB was ranked 12th in the UK.

The Times World University Ranking breaks down many factors such as the number of students per staff member, and the ranking found that there are 15 students to every staff member.

The Times World University Ranking also gives every university percentage scores on different aspects.

The University of Birmingham received 40.5% in teaching, 46.2% in research, 95.2% in citations, 42.3% in industry income, and 92.2% in international outlook.

This gave the University of Birmingham an overall score of 62.6%.
