The Duck and Scholar Vale bar is now a walk-in asymptomatic testing site

No booking is required

The Duck and Scholar bar in the Vale Village is now being used as a temporary walk-in asymptomatic Covid-19 testing centre.

The bar can be used by all students for testing and no booking is required.

It will be open for testing every Tuesday and Friday.

The announcement from UoB encourages students to get tested as often as possible “to be able to open up society” once again.

Students can now get tested without a booking at The Duck and Scholar on Tuesday and Friday between 11am and 6.45pm (with a brief closure from 2pm to 2.45pm).

Those taking a lateral flow test at the bar will receive a goody bag.

This testing site is in addition to the booked testing site in the Great Hall on Monday and Thursday.

Students are able to return home for Easter break however it has been advised that those who do, get tested before travelling and again upon return.
