Homeless man found dead near the Bullring

His death is not thought to be suspicious


A 31 year old homeless man was found dead at 3:30pm on Sunday just a couple of minutes from the Bullring.

The man has been identified as Kane Walker and is thought to have been known by homeless outreach workers in Birmingham.

He was found dead under Smallbrook Queensway. The emergency services were contacted but sadly Walker was pronounced dead at the scene.

A postmortem will be carried out, but the circumstances are not thought to be suspicious.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman told BirminghamLive: "We were called just after 3:30pm to Pershore Street, near Birmingham Master Locksmiths. Two ambulances, a paramedic and care team were sent to the scene. On arrival crews found a man in cardiac arrest. He was sadly confirmed dead at the scene."

A spokeswoman for West Midlands Police told BirminghamLive: "We were called at 3:50pm by the ambulance service. The body of a 31-year-old man was sadly discovered at the scene. There are not thought to have been any suspicious circumstances."
