Breaking: body found on the Vale
The area has been cordoned off by police
Earlier today, an area around The Vale Village was cordoned when a body was found at the lake. Police officers, ambulances and the fire services were present at the scene.
The body has been identified as male and according to the police is not a university student or member of staff. Police are continuing to investigate the area, as further details are yet to be confirmed.
Students and residents of the Vale watched from the nearby paths, anxious to know what was going on. The police were reportedly called to the scene at around 3pm today, and the number of emergency services present gradually increased. The area has been cut off by tape and a green tent has been put up just next to the lake.
The body was removed a few hours later, with the man’s identity yet to be confirmed.
