Another student was mugged by masked gang on Hubert Road

There’s been two attacks in 24 hours

Another Brum student has reported a double mugging on the Fab Facebook page.

The Facebook post outlining the attack received almost 700 likes.

It was the second attack reported on the Fab page in less than 24 hours.

The student wrote: “Me and my friend got mugged today on Hubert road at the corner by Dartmouth.

“There were 3 of them, ranging from about 5″7 to 6″2 and they had a light blue Seat on Dartmouth, which they then escaped into.

“We think one of them may have had a knife. It was at 5pm so still light. I don’t know if they’re connected to the other muggings but please everyone watch out, like I said it was daylight.

“Please please if anyone saw anything can they ring 101 to tell the policemen they saw the incident/someone wearing a balaclava or a light blue Seat.”

The attack happened on Hubert Road

The Selly Oak police posted the following advice to students on their Twitter profile: “If walking home after a night out try and stay in a group as much as possible, don’t walk with mobile out.

“If you ever feel that you are being followed cross over the road. If they cross with you try 2 make 2wards a busy public area.”

It is still unclear whether or not this incident is linked to recent previous attacks in Selly Oak, and police enquires are “on-going” according to a spokesperson for West Midlands Police.

Anyone with further information is urged to contact the police by calling 101, or 999 if witnessing an incident and it is safe to do so.
