A fire broke out at Rooster House earlier this morning
Fire has ravaged Selly Oak’s best loved fast food eatery, Rooster House.
Emergency services shut off Bristol Road this morning as four fire engines tackled the blaze.
No one was hurt or injured during the fire. A fireman told The Tab that the fire “could have broken out from the early hours of this morning.”
It took the fire brigade ten minutes to extinguish the blaze.
The culprit has been confirmed as this food warmer, pictured below.
One passerby laid flowers, and told The Tab, “It’s a heartbreaking moment for everyone”.
Referring to the tragedy as “sadder than Diana” there was a distinct feeling of mourning in the gathered crowds. One desolate spectator was heard asking, “would this mean extenuating circumstances for exams?”
The Tab spoke to fire officers on the scene and managed to get an exclusive look inside the shell of our flame grilled chicken Mecca.
Owners claim that despite possible structural damage, Rooster House will be reopened in around 4-5 weeks. To any of those wanting to maintain vigil throughout that period, Aldi sell two packs of tealights for a pound.
