Queen’s ranked 26th best university in UK

QUB jumped up five places in the Good University Guide

It’s good news for QUB this week as the Sunday Times’ Good University Guide places them 26th in the UK.

It marks an improvement from last year, where the uni narrowly missed out on the top 30, ranked 31st.

Student experience at Queen’s was ranked at 88.7 per cent, whereas teaching quality fared slightly worse at 82.8 per cent.

The figures are good press for the university after the negative attention it received in May over its shocking gender pay gap, where it was revealed that female professors at Queen’s earn up to less than 15 per cent than their male colleagues. Queen’s has the highest gender pay gap amongst the universities in the prestigious Russell Group.

The Guide also revealed that Queen’s has a degree completion rate of 92.6 per cent, compared to 80 per cent for Ulster University.
