Police set dogs on ‘killer clowns’ in Belfast

A group of them were jumping in front of traffic in South Belfast

In a frightening escalation of the Killer-clown craze, last night the PSNI responded to reports of young people dressed as clowns risking their lives on the road.

These so called “killer clowns” were reportedly jumping in front of cars driving past the Shaw’s Bridge area of South Belfast, a 50mph dual carriageway.

One of the masks seized by the PSNI

A PSNI officer said: “Officers from B Section and the doggie section were sent to Shaw’s Bridge in the early hours as there had been a report of a group of idiots wearing clown masks jumping out in front of cars.

“Let that sink in. It’s a wet and dark night and these morons were jumping out in front of cars on a 50mph dual carriageway wearing that mask.

“Unfortunately these fools got a fright of their own when they saw the police dog and probably realised they wouldn’t outrun a German Shepherd.

“The mask was seized from a female and a police investigation is to follow.

“Anyone who engages in this type of behaviour seriously need to grow up.”

A clown spotted last week outside Villa

This comes after Holy Trinity College in Cookstown was shut down due after a threat was posted online by a killer clown.

According to a PSNI  spokes woman two people were spoke to in relation to the Shaw’s Bridge incident and investigations are ongoing.
