How often is it acceptable to change your profile picture?

This needs to be cleared up

Awh uni life, the best life one could possibly have – from living with your besties, to partying all the time. Who wouldn’t choose this lifestyle?

This perfect little life is often captured from the flash of a camera. And it even looks more perfect in the photograph. With all these great nights out being documented it’s obviously essential that they are shared onto the relevant social media platforms for all to see.

There can be a problem though, how many photographs uploads a week is classified as acceptable before you are referred as a pollute? More importantly though, how frequently is it acceptable to change your profile picture?

Who doesn’t love a good selfie?

Scenario one

It’s a big week – it’s your birthday or you just handed in your dissertation, whatever the reason, you are on it. Monday night: you take a wee selfie to notify every one of your great plans for week ahead. Tuesday night: you get a group picture with your friends, as without them, there would be no big week. Wednesday night: a wee selfie again to highlight you are still going strong and looking surprisingly fresh. Thursday night: you’re officially rough as but don’t get a shit, but then the photographer in the club captures a great picture of you. It has to be shared.

So now we have four good pictures, which picture makes it onto social media, or do they all? Is that acceptable? But more importantly, is it new profile picture time?

Scenario two

You’ve captured the one, the lighting, the angle, its selfie-tastic. It has to be your new profile picture without any questions asked. Get that picture upload and embrace them likes, you deserve it. But then, the week later you go out and it’s a double whammy – you have done it again. Another cracking photograph.

Now this, this is the real Big Issue. You can’t change your profile picture 7 days after only changing it, or can you?
