Mark Foster’s viral ‘One Night Stand’ status was just a joke by his mates from 2013
The exact same words had previously been used with different names
On Wednesday night, news of Mark Foster’s dismal luck following a one night stand spread like wildfire over Facebook.
Receiving more than 1,400 shares and a host of comments, Mark’s status supposedly posted by a one night stand went viral. However there wasn’t an element of truth in the post – it was the cunning work of some of Mark’s friends who rehashed a popular Facebook prank from 2013.
The Facebook post which has been shared almost 1,500 times and has come to the attention of national newspapers had later emerged to have just been a frape that Mark’s friends had posted as a joke. Speaking to the Daily Mail, Mark had previously said: “When I woke in the morning my first thought was to try to ‘get out’ – I didn’t want to just lie about. I was still really tired though so I went straight to bed when I got home and didn’t even think to look for my phone until I got up at about 6pm or so. The moment of realisation was not nice and obviously it got worse when I saw the message she had left on Facebook.
“I don’t even remember sending those messages to my friend to be honest. I do feel bad for her obviously. I eventually plucked up the courage to call her but it must have been on vibrate as she didn’t answer the first few times. When she did, all she said was ‘your phone is here, come and get it’. So yeah, I could tell she was clearly not happy with me.”
It would appear, though, that Mark isn’t just trying to save face and declaring a frape to convince his family that he’s a goody goody only at university to study. The exact same words had been posted in the past, with a few name changes.
