No one gave birth in the McClay

There’s no McClayby

Wild speculation started to spin on Monday afternoon after YikYak lit up with reports of a girl giving birth in the McClay.

The second floor of the McClay was reportedly evacuated.

Library goers claimed it was because a student had gone into labour.

The Christmas miracle was said to have happened in the McClay

The evacuation was said to have occurred at around 2pm on Monday, followed by an ambulance call out to the library.

YikYak ran wild with the rumour, speculating whether the birth was overdue and if the girl would be charged a fiver.

Sophie Windebank tweeted: “Evacuated from the library cause a girl is giving birth on the floor I was on.”

Witnesses said they heard the sound of someone in pain, before seeing a girl pushed out of the library in a wheelchair.

However, a librarian has since confirmed no one gave birth in the McClay.

She said: “I can tell you that absolutely no one gave birth here, as one person who came up to the desk asked me.”

The University have been contacted but are unavailable for comment.
