A Queen’s grad died on Saturday morning after being involved in a one-vehicle crash on Newry Road in Crossmaglen, Co Armagh.

The crash occurred on Newry Road early Saturday morning.

23-year-old Danica Nugent graduated from Queen’s earlier this year having studied Land Use and Environmental Management, and was due to start studying for her Master’s.

Tributes have been posted online to commemorate the Tassagh local, described by friends as “bright” and “bubbly”.

One friend posted: “From the day and hour I met you, you made my life better by being a part of it.

“You lit up hearts and rooms with your smile and laughter.

“Your kindness, patience and strength helped so many people.

“I will carry you with me forever my beautiful, beautiful friend.”

Another added:“You were the bubbliest light in a dark dull room, the pure life and soul and I cannot believe that today life has been so cruel and taken you away too soon.

“My thoughts are with your boyfriend and all your family and friends at this heartbreaking time.

“God gained a good one today.

“We will miss you lots, you beautiful lady.”

Danica’s father also added a touching tribute, saying: “Loved always forever missed to we meet again.

“Was honoured to be your da.”

A 25 year old man was arrested in connection with the collision.

The PSNI have asked for anyone who was travelling on the Newry Road and who witnessed the collision to contact local police in Newry or the Collision Investigation Unit on the non-emergency number 101

This is the second car crash in two weeks to rock Queen’s as a fatal collision took the lives of three Queen’s students in August.
