Ridiculous new dress code set to ban GAA tops in McClay

Put your Tyrone tops away boys

GAA library mcclay sports

Sport shirt fanatics have been banned from wearing GAA shirts in the library.

The ban will include GAA shirts, all football strips and full tracksuits in an attempt to create a more “professional” atmosphere in the run up to accepting new pupils.

Hockey, hurls and lacrosse sticks will also no longer be allowed into the main library area, but will be “checked in” to the security desk.

You won’t be so happy after Easter, Derry boy

Mary Laverty, who studies English, is appalled by the new proposal.

She said: “I think it would be ridiculous to ban any sporting tops inside the library. Does this include Queen’s own sports tops too?

“It seems completely crazy to ban students from wearing gear in support of the uni team in a uni building”

What on earth are the Jordanstown students going to do

Anyone coming or going from training, the PEC or merely just want to be comfortable while they’re studying will find themselves put at a disadvantage.

It is not known when exactly the ban will officially come into effect, but it is expected that students will be officially told of the new dress code after the Easter break.

May as well make the most of those comfy tracksuit bottoms and cosy GAA tops now, because come the end of midterm they’ll have to remain in that pile of clothes you normally reserve for slouching round the house.

Before you go complaining to McClay – check your calendars. Happy April Fools.
