Vote for Belfast’s best cafe

Where do you go to pretend to be sophisticated?

clements coffee Common grounds HOPE sinnamon vote

As students,we like our coffee strong – something that’s gonna blow our tired little socks off first thing in the morning, and pick us out of that drowsy 3pm slump halfway through the day.

Vote for the best place to get that adrenaline right here.

Sinnamon

With cafés in Botanic and Stranmillis, Sinnamon makes it easy for students travelling from all directions to grab a java on their way to class.

The quiet atmosphere makes it a great place to catch up on some reading, and the staff respect the peaceful atmosphere. A coffee-scented bubble where you can escape from the bustle of Botanic.

The Stranmillis branch has the same friendly vibes but attracts more customers and more volume.

Sinnamon take their coffee seriously- strong without being bitter and their bacon and cream cheese bagels are the perfect accompaniment.  They also offer a handy and cheap £2 carry out coffee.

Coffee and a cat, this picture has everything

Clements

With 10 coffee shops across the city you’re never too far away from a Clements  If you’re in a desperate rush the Clements at the heart of the students union is a godsend.

It’s unmissable and extremely popular but the constant crowds bump up the waiting times a bit.

That said, in the hot chocolate department Clements definitely know what they’re doing and the snacks in Clements are also very lovely. Their rocky roads are to die for.

Don’t pretend you don’t want one

Common Grounds Cafe

Common Grounds’ steadfast presence in University Area (ten whole years) is testament to its ‘coffee not profit’ motto. An admirable addition to the Holylands.

The church décor is simple yet quirky and the bright.

Their student promotions are fantastic too – £1.50 for any hot drink all day during Christmas time.

And the food’s not bad either – sour dough toast (yum) with banana, peanut butter and maple syrup for breakfast? That’ll do nicely.

and they appreciate good wordplay, what’s not to love?

Hope Cafe

HOPE Café, situated on the ground floor of the McClay Library on the QUB campus, is rarely a first choice for coffee.

But it’s just right there, and when you’re stuck in the library for hours, it’s a beacon of hope (sorry).

Starbucks

Yeah yeah it’s great. You know it, we know it, Starbucks knows it.

Basically,if you vote for Starbucks you’re just proving you’re a hopeless slave to consumerism in spite of the ‘off the wall’ screenplay/script/novel you’re writing whilst enjoying a low fat soy latte in your nearest franchise.

But it’s just so good though.

Though having a friend who works there has its benefits #free
