Vote for Belfast’s best club

Stop complaining about your nights out and show some love

belfast Best clubs night out student

We might be half way through the semester with deadlines getting worryingly closer but this is no excuse for not going out and having a good time.

Last year you voted for the worst (spoiler: it was Box) – turn that negativity around and vote for the best.

1. Box

Help them turn around last year’s worst club fate?

If you can get over the abundance of freshers, Box also has bucketloads of “sweg” apparently (and they’ve got straighteners in the toilets).

2. Limelight

What more could you want for a night out than a variety of music, people and drink? How about card tricksters, fire breathers, make up artists and free lollies?

Avoid the queue to the smoking area by buying multiple chocolate tequila shots, get into the middle of the dance floor with the massive balloons and rock out to the music which will inevitably finish with an Oasis song.

3. Ollies

For those classy few of us, don your finest garments and accessories for a night of underground dancing.

Like ironing your best Chinos for a night out and want to potentially rub shoulders with Rory McIlroy? You’ll love Ollies

Either drink away in the booths downstairs with a cocktail or sway to the tunes of the live performer in the smoking area.

Cocktails that wouldn’t look out of place at Ollie’s

4. Union

This place is the heart and soul of student nights out and somewhere that all students venture at least five times during their uni career.

You’ll end up in Union practically every Monday night (and if you’re a fresher, most Fridays) so it has to be on this list.

And the bouncers really like us too

Connected couldn’t be a better name – everyone goes joint in the spirit of sharing the ridiculously cheap drink deals.

5. The Bot

Although a popular bar during the day and evenings Wedsnesday reveals a whole new side to the legendary pub. Guaranteed to have a queue of shivering students at the ATM outside, the Bot always promises to be a good night.

And it’s pretty close to Gilgamesh, which is always a plus.

6. Thompsons

Thompsons has a loyal cabal of dedicated revellers, and the rest of us pretty much end up there every week anyway.

It’s Thompsons, it will happen.

7. Villa

Even though Villa has been around for a good while now it is still considered one of Belfast’s newbies.

Support it’s early attempts by voting for it as the definitive best night out.

8. The Gypsy Lounge (Filthy McNasty’s)

A lounge is just what it is. So chilled and relaxed but with a dance floor for those who want to go wild.

Although smaller than most other nightclubs it still has plenty of space for you to let the dance carry you away and once you’re exhausted, you can just snuggle in one of the countless booths hidden around floor.

If not run downstairs to Filthy’s and massacre your student loans on those amazing cocktails.

9. El Divino

Bringing tropical chic to Belfast, help them celebrate their third birthday by voting them for best night out.

Also, Kneedeep gets pretty rowdy…
