Two men were stabbed today at Belfast Met’s Millfield campus.

They were rushed to hospital at around 11am.

The Millfield campus is close to Belfast city centre

The stabbing is believed to have occurred near the art block on the college campus.

Paramedics were called after a fight broke out inside the building’s toilets.

Riot vans, police cars and ambulances arrived on site soon after.

One witness described the scene as “complete pandemonium”

A statement from the college has said two students were involved. It has been reported that one of the men has special needs.

They were rushed to hospital for treatment but are described as being in a stable condition by police. One was taken to Mater, the other has been admitted to the Royal.

A 21 year old man was detained at the scene and has since been arrested.
