Blind Vodka Tasting: Can you tell the difference?

Using only a huge amount of pre-drink leftovers and a blindfold, we risked our sobriety and gag-reflex to test our alcohol knowledge and see which vodka is most/least likely to induce vomiting.

Despite hating the taste, I consider myself something of a vodka connoisseur, having spent the last 3 years living on an impressively small student budget. So surely that experience has refined my taste buds to know the difference, right?

Blind test 1: Svenska

I thought this was: Smirnoff

This tasted: Delightfully water-like, least likely to make a person vomit.

Rating: 8/10

Update on condition of tester: Still sober.

All the same? Nah, surely not for an expert…

Blind test 2: Vladivar

I thought this was: Svenska

This tasted: Like battery acid.

Rating: 3/10

Update on condition of tester: Disgusted, but sober.

I know! Is it vodka?

Blind test 3: Smirnoff

I thought this was: Vladivar

This tasted: Not that bad, no retching occurred.

Rating: 5/10

Update on condition of tester: Still pretty sober.

Blind test 4: Glens

I thought this was: Glens

This tasted: Like distilled hell, most likely to make a person vomit.

Rating: 1/10

Update on condition of tester: Trying to seduce housemate.

Thumbs up for not being passed out at the end of this…
