Bangin’ Bangor

Bangor, to me, has always been ‘that place by the sea my grandparents took me for ice cream’. Well, all my childhood memories have now been ruined.

The ‘quiet’ seaside town, just outside Belfast in County Down, has been revealed as the UK’s sexiest town.

Thanks to the nationwide Lovehoney survey and subsequent sex map, we can no longer be fooled by the middle class citizens of Bangor. We know you love it.

You could be fooled in to thinking that Bangor is merely a slightly run-down town with a nice enough beach and plenty of chips and ice cream, as there isn’t a sex shop in sight.

However, the Lovehoney survey showed that Bangorians spent 6.7 times the national average as well as 10 times more on lingerie and 10.6 times more ‘sexy gifts’…

Although, they do a great job of trying to maintain their reputation for middle class prudishness – Like when a Bangor farmer (who had agreed to rent his land for a video shoot) told RiRi to cover up during the shooting of ‘We Found Love’.

Coming in at third is another sexy County Down town – Newtownards.

A common rhetorical question amongst Belfast students born and bred in the capital is ‘God, how crap would it be if you lived in Northern Ireland but not in Belfast?’. Clearly not as bad as we think.
