9 Reasons Why We Love The Limelight
Reasons why we repeatedly wake up on Wednesday morning with no regrets.
Sarah ByrneWhere else would we spend our Tuesday nights?! The Limelight has gone from zero to hero in the Belfast club scene, boasting club nights bigger than their mammoth queues and acrobatics you wouldn’t even attempt after one too many tequilas.
It’s certainly not the biggest club in Belfast, but it sure has the biggest reputation. Here’s 9 reasons why we love Limers.
1. After a couple of hours pre-drinking, waiting in the queue is made ten times more bearable through card tricks, fire-breathers and ‘how the hell?!’ stunts.
2. Not a fan of blasting chart music? Never fear – ditch Spring and Airbrake and hit Katy Daly’s and Limelight to hear all your favourite cheesy ‘90s classics and ’00 rock tunes!
3. £1.50 chocolate tequila shots. Enough said.
4. With three separate parts to the club, with three separate scenes and people from all walks of life, you can easily avoid that awkward encounter with the ex you saw lurking in the queue.
5. Packs of sweets and prizes. Waking up to find a drumstick lolly in your pocket from the night before will ease any hangover.
6. Sketchy’s move to the Limelight (We bow down to you, Rigsy)
7. Free Birthday Party Tables with 10 free drinks. WHAT?! (Yes that is me on the far right, making that face of sheer jubilation.)
8. Got that one flatmate that can’t be parted with his Xbox? Your flatmate duty is done, my friend.
